there's something about this trip that the log entries and photographs can't describe, so i'll try to describe it myself; by the way, it would have been nice to have some audio recordings, but i suppose i never considered it;

after the mist of the day and the shining evening clouds, we sat under a clear, luminous night; though the sun was absent, its light was always apparent; the whole horizon seemed to glow;

toby was asleep; i think he had nodded off during my colossal qso with the chap near great malvern; did i send an sms message to ailsa? or did i just consider it?

eventually, with things quiet on the radio, i opened the door and, intending to keep my socked feet dry, stood on the rocker panel and looked awhile at the sky; there was too much brightness to allow much enjoyment of the stars, but there was plenty to marvel at; in every direction, i could see where my radio signals had travelled, unhindered by cloud; it was very sweet
