in the pub on the corner in quakers yard, keith got chatting to some drunken bugger at the bar, who was apparently somehow connected to the barwoman/proprietor; i drank double brandies and bought drinks and snacks for everyone else; the drunken bugger asked a shy sophie what her boyfriend had bought her for christmas; lots of smiles, but no answer; sophie and camille argued over a barstool; i settled the dispute when i put my booted foot on one of the struts and lifted sophie onto my leg, leaving the seat to camille;

we wandered through quakers yard, finding another pub down a low road; as keith and caroline walked ahead, i tried to help camille with her frozen ears; pretty soon, i had a girl under each wing of my fleece, causing me to laugh loudly;

another drink (a pint of something) at that pub, before being found on some steps by jacques' teacher in his car; he could have transferred jacques to us, but i think jacques elected to remain in the climbing car
